Developing community assets means that we meet people where they are, but we don’t leave them there.

Mission

CREA Results is a cultural broker, building the assets of the immigrant community in Colorado by increasing health equity and economic security. Our work is driven by a team of Promotores de Salud/Community Health Workers: passionate cultural and linguistic liaisons that advocate on behalf of the community and build trust among community members and local service agencies.

What does CREA stand for?

CREA is an acronym that stands for Community, Research, Education + Awareness. We believe that when we combine these four assets we achieve results. CREA also means “Create” in Spanish. We believe in the capacity of our team to create meaningful relationships with people, and impactful changes in their neighborhoods. We see the community as a whole, including community residents, local agencies, organizations and government agencies.

Community

CREA Results utilizes a culturally-relevant, participatory approach to community work. The Promotores de Salud (Community Health Workers) provide authentic engagement and outreach in the Latino and immigrant community.

Research

We engage communities and researchers in Community-based Participatory Research. Our goal is to build trust and accountability in order to improve the quality of the research process and ensure that research truly benefits communities.

Education

We believe that individuals empowered with knowledge are the building blocks of healthy, strong, resilient communities. We seek to educate communities so that they in turn can engage in eliminating health disparities and environmental poverty through local action.

Awareness

We work with trusted voices and media outlets throughout the Latino and immigrant communities to raise awareness of important community health issues, such as mental health, vaccines, environmental contaminants, maternal health, and more!

Our Story

Since 2006, CREA Results has successfully trained hundreds of Promotores de Salud throughout Colorado, Puerto Rico and Mexico. We are a small organization, but together we can have a big impact on improving health in Colorado.

Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

As an organization founded and operated by Latino immigrants, we are deeply committed to strategies which are guided by equity, diversity and inclusion. We do this by putting community first in every project we work on. We create space to listen to and elevate voices that are often unheard and undervalued, and we design our projects based on the community members’ articulated needs. Fundamentally, and quite simply, we believe that approaches which enable community members to advocate for change on their terms and which mobilize local assets to make those changes, are the most inclusive and equitable approaches to community design.
